Volunteer for CaRMaH

CaRMaH is 100% volunteer run!
Community involvement is the most effective way to address cat homelessness in the Hudson/Marlborough area.

Some of our volunteer opportunities are:

Petsmart Volunteer
Interact with our cats at Petsmart: socialize with them and keep their cages tidy.

Meow Mixer Volunteer
Assist with our regular Meow Mixers, helping adopters meet and adopt cats.  A love of the public and pet education is important - this is one of the most dynamic ways you can contribute!

Foster Care Volunteer
The ultimate hands-on experience! Many of our cats and kittens are fostered in homes. All that is needed is a spare room, love, and being local to Marlborough and Hudson! We provide training, supplies, advice, and medical care as needed. See our fostering page for more information.

Administrative Volunteer
Help out from the comfort of your own home screening messages from our hotline, and responding or sending them on to other volunteers   We also need help creating email lists from our database and preparing our e-mail newsletter.

Special Events/Fundraising Volunteer
We are looking for a few good folks who can lead one (or more) fundraisers - creativity important, experience a plus! If you are unable to make a  frequent commitment to the rescue, this is a great way to lend a helping hand!

Adoption Volunteer
Help match our kitties with just the right person by training to be an adoption counselor! Screen applicants, call references, or help with matching approved adopters and their forever kitty/kitties! This is a job that is easily done at home (probably with a cat in your lap), flexible time.

Transportation Volunteer
Drive cats locally --  perhaps to the vet, to another foster home, or to Petsmart. We occasionally need help with longer rides, usually to the New York / New Jersey area and back.

Behavioral Counselor
Many cats are surrendered due to behavioral issues. With the proper guidance, many owners would keep their cats. The ideal folks for this position will either have a knowledge of cat behavior issues or be willing to learn, and who will also make contact in follow up to check on how things are going.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
The possibilities are endless! If you can help with photography, graphic design, public relations, trapping feral cats, or you have a skill we don't know we need, we would love to hear from you.
